VMSA - Welcome to our website !

20 December 2011

Roy still gets a little frustrated with the time his rehabilitation is taking, but generally speaking he is in good spirits. He can speak clearly now and is back to eating normal (not puree) meals. He has not achieved any controlled movement in his left arm and his doctor suspects that he may not now get any improvement there.

Over the Xmas period the Wagga Rehabilitatiion Ward is closing and Roy will be transferred tomorrow to the Leeton Hospital for this period. With the support of Pam and his many local friends, he will be able to go home on day leave. For all concerned it's going to be great to have Roy back in Leeton for the Xmas and NYE.

Early in the new year Roy will head to Sydney for the fitting of a pace-maker (irregular heart beat) and to have vascular surgery to remove the blockage in his carotid artery (main brain supply artery), and then it will be back to Wagga for further rehabilitation.

All of us in masters look to a full and speedy recovery when Roy's smile can once again be seen around the courts
